Today I am introducing you to an exotic fruit: The pitahaya (also pitaya or dragon fruit)
The best-known variety in this country has a magenta-red skin with scale-like protrusions that actually end in spines, but these are removed before transportation.
Dragon fruit – a low-calorie exotic fruit
The pitaya – dragon fruit low in calories – high in vitamin B
The inside of the fruit looks like stracciatella and has a jelly-like consistency. The countless black seeds can be eaten without any problems, they have a digestive effect. So if you have a sensitive stomach, be careful not to eat too much fruit at once.
The flesh has a sweet and sour, refreshing taste and consists of 90% water.
This makes the pitahaya very low in calories.
The main cultivation areas are Colombia, Vietnam and China.
And now get to the fruit.
